Christina Schallenberg - UVic 3 Minute Thesis Competition
Congratulations to our PhD student, Christina Schallenberg, who was runner up in the final round of the UVic 3 Minute Thesis competition held as part of Idea Fest 2015. Her supervisor, Dr. Jay Cullen, commented that the event was well attended with approximately 75% of the David Lam Auditorium filled. The judges for the event were Jamie Cassels (UVic President); Bob McDonald (the host of CBC’s Quirks and Quarks); Dave Obee (editor-in-chief of the Times Colonist); Maureen Sawa (CEO of the Greater Victoria Public Library) and Tania Miller (music director of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra). They had a very tough job to select among 8 very impressive presentations. Christina was a fantastic ambassador for SEOS research and her award was very well deserved.
